Virgil Blazer Oud
Instead of a modern musical instrument such as a boom box, I created a guitar-like instrument known as an oud this week. This project plays into my theme as I used only Nike sneakers, specifically the Nike Blazer, to construct the oud.
I manipulated and warped cutouts of the sneaker until an oud could be seen and represented clearly. The inspiration used to complete this project was a picture of an actual oud for reference and various Nike Blazer angles. I was also inspired by the work of graphic artist Jeff Cole and some of my previous work.
