Bagpipes Air Max 90

Instead of creating another sneaker manipulated instrument, I play into my chosen theme by focusing on my project's type treatment. Doing so allowed me to understand how I can use my typography skills to elevate my work completely.

The type allows the background to keep up with the intensity of the illustration in the center. I gathered inspiration from various esquire magazine articles to come up with a similar dense typography style. I used similar colors in the text as the color-way on the Infrared Nike Air Max 90, the shoe used to create the bagpipes. To fill out the text and address my disdain for the sound that comes out of bagpipes, I included funny and critical quotes from famous people regarding how they feel about bagpipes; they tend to agree with me. The typefaces that I used are the Futura family, the Rig family, Blenny Black, and Filicudi Solid. I placed "NIKE AIR MAX 90" underneath the sneaker to draw awareness to their title.
